Everest circuit trekking through Jiri is one of the classic trekking trails, currently the trekking, instead of starting from Jiri; it starts from the place called Bhandar, the gateway to Everest base camp. It is considered to be one of the longest trekking trails but this is trail is famous across the world especially after the successful summit made on the Mt. Everest (8848 m.) the highest point of earth, by Tenjing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary back in 1953. Duo had followed the same route in order to have summit over the highest point of earth then.

This is one of the adventurous trekking trails lying in Everest region, because you will pass several high pass, high hills, settlement of Sherpa ethnic groups, where you will have chances to explore their unique tradition, culture and customs and lifestyles. Subsequently, another attractions of this trekking is that you will also have breathtaking views of several mountains around Khumbu region including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m) Mt. Day 21: We fly to Katmandu and we go for a farewell dinner in the evening.

Day 22: Transfer to the airport for our onward flight home sweet home.

 

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative from Volunteer Society Treks Nepal.. After sorting out your custom formalities (Visa etc) you will be then transferred to the hotel. The representative will help you check into your designated hotel and give you some time to freshen up. After this, we will attend an orientation about your trek led by our Trekking leader over a typical Nepali welcome dinner that will include a scintillating cultural dance performed by the local belles. You then return to your hotel for your first overnight in the valley of the gods! *Included Meal Dinner. (D)

Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing &Trek preparation (1,300m/4,264ft)
Kathmandu is the cultural heart of Nepal and has been a famous destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its borders to visitors. The city displays an interesting combination of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence in the Valley. Patan and Bhaktapur, the two important neighboring cities bear much cultural and religious significance to Nepal’s landscape. There will be a full day guided tour to the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, unique architectures and Kumari (living goddess), the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Boudhhanath), in the evening, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we meet our trek leader and other stuff for your adventure trip.Overnight at hotel, included meal: (B)

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Jiri (2,370m) 8-9 hours drive.
Today we will leave Kathmandu for our 3 weeks long trek to Everest base camp; we take an early morning drive to Jiri by local bus through the beautiful mountain road. It takes is approximately 8-9 hours to reach Jiri. Jiri is a big town and surrounding by beautiful hills. We stay overnight at Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 04: Trek Jiri – Bhandar (2,220m.) 6-7 hours trek.
We start our trek through the beautiful country side scenery and we passing through friendly villagers and farm fields. We pass many down hills and uphill till reach to a small settlement at Bhandar. You can enjoy the remaining day exploring the local villages. Overnight at lodge (B, L, D)

Day 05: Trek Bhandar – Sete (2,575m.) 7-8 hours trek.
The trail descends from Bhandar through beautiful forest crossing few bridges passing the small settlements of Dokharpa and Baranda, the winding path leads us to a tiny beautiful village at Kinja. After lunch we continue climb up hill passing through several farm houses and terrace fields with wonderful view of the surrounding landscapes and small villages. Another steep ascent to Chimpu and continue further finally we reach at Sete. It’s a mall Sharpa village located on the ridge in the middle of rhododendron forest. We stay overnight at lodge (B, L, D)

Day 06: Trek Sete – Junbesi (2,670m.) 7-8 hours trek.
Today’s walk leads us gradually uphill climb to Lamjura La through a beautiful forest of pine, magnolia, maple, birch and rhododendrons. Passing by a few small villages and scattered farm houses before reaching to Dagchu and Goyerm village. Lamjura La pass at 3520metters, the highest point between Jiri and Namche Bazaar, offers a panoramic view of the surrounding Himalayas. The trail descends down the pass to Taktor and Junbesi. Afternoon we will explore the villages and the way of living of Sharpa people.
We stay overnight at lodge (B, L, D)

Day 07: Trek Junbesi – Nantahala (2,220m) 7-8 hours trek.
This day we cross the stream beyond Junbesi climb up the forest slope and after an hour trek, the exciting views of mountains appears before our eyes. We can see many mountains from here they include Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makulu, Mera peak, and among others. Mt Everest can be seen on a clear day towards northeast. We will continue trek to salung and the trail descend to Ringmo Khola. Ascend to Ringmo, cross the Trashindo la pass and descend to Tashingdo. After another one hour descend through rhododendron forest, and terraced fields, we finally arrive at Nunthala. We stay overnight at lodge (B, L, D)

Day 08: Trek Nunthala – Bupsa (2360m) 6-7 hours trek.
Today we descend down to the Dudh Kosi River. We continue follow the Dudh Kosi for about two hours, passing through agricultural farming land and some Rai and Sharpa settlement. Climb the trail eastward to reach Kharikhola and descend to cross a suspension bridge. From Kharikhola another one steep climb for about half and hours and finally takes us to Bupsa. We stay overnight at Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 09: Trek Bupsa – Surkey (2, 652m.) 6-7 hours trek.
Today the trail descends from Bupsa through a forested stretch passing Kharte. From Kharte the trail continue to the north side of the valley to reach Khari La pass. We can enjoy the pantomimic views of the Khari La pass of Gyachung Kang and Khumbila mountains among others. The trail descends to Puiyan village (2,790m) and walks through the ups and down to Surkey. We stay overnight at lodge (B, L, D)

Day 10: Trek Surkey – Phakding (2,640m) 5-6 hours trek.
After breakfast we continue climb towards Chaunrikharka (2,713m) it’s a large scattered village with beautiful monastery and high school. Chaunrikharka is also the bread basket for the Khumbu area because the land is very fertile for barley, wheat and plenty of vegetables. Today the trail joins from Lukla towards Phakding and the path quite buys with more trekkers, porters and animals, and few hours of good scenic walk brings us to Phakding. We stay overnight at lodge (B, L, D)

Day 11: Rest& acclimatization in Namche Bazaar.
Acclimatization is important before proceeding higher. This even mentally prepares us for what to expect as we hit the trails in the real wild in the days ahead. This is first of two scheduled “acclimatization” days”.Namche Bazzar is the main centre of the Everest region and has government offices, ATMs, Internet cafes, shops, a bakery and local markets .Namche is an ideal place to spend a day for rest to acclimatize with the higher altitudes before heading off towards Khumjung. To prepare you for the tough climbing to come in the days ahead, you can spend the day taking a day walk hike to Khunde hospital which was set-up by Sir Edmund Hillary or you can take a one hour walk up to the Syangboche (3800m.) where Everest View Hotel is situated above Namche for the outstanding views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt.Lhotse, Mt.Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and Mt.Kusum Kangaru.. Stay overnight in bustling Namche which is a real happening town hereabouts. (B, L, D)

Day 12: Trek Namche Bazaar – Tengboche (3, 870m.) 5-6 hours trek.
Today, we continue trek along the rushing glacial Dudh Kosi River with magnificent views of the majestic Himalayas that becomes more dramatic as you approach the holy place of Tengboche. A traditional site with its beautiful Monastery, it is spiritual center of the Khumbu region where the rimpoche (Lama Re-incarnate) exists. Monastery is made of incredible ornate wall hangings, twenty feet sculpture of Buddha and the musical instruments of robes of the Lamas; if you are lucky enough you will see the Lama Performing their rituals and hear the divine chanting and music. Tyangboche known as the best place for panoramic view of the Mt. Kwangde, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Kangtega, Mt.Ama Dablam and among others. We stay overnight at Lodge (B, L, D)

Day13: Trek Tengboche – Dingboche (4, 360 m.) 5-6 hours trek.
The trails lead us to Debuche, crossing an exciting suspension bridge on the Imja Khola, and ascend to Pangboche among thousands of Mani stones holding ‘Yeti Scalp’ in its Gompa. We trek continues uphill, taking us to the picturesque traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche just under Ama Dablam with its lovely views of Mt Lhotse, Island Peak, and Mt.Ama Dablam. Dingboche is a beautiful patchwork of well cultivated lush green fields enclosed by stone walls protecting the crops of barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals. We stay overnight at Lodge (B, L.D)

Day14-: Second rest at Dingboche; hike to Chhukung (4,750m.)
This is an important acclimatization day for rest as we give the lungs a breather. This also means we have the option of hiking high up to the colorful & vibrant Chhukung (4,730m) which takes approx. 3-4 hours from Dingboche, towards east within the Imjatse Valley.We spend the day exploring and ovserving the mountain scenery with excellent views of Nuptse, Lhotse, Chhukung Peak and Island Peak (6189 m) At Chhukung, there are few teahouses overlooking superb view of the snow capped peaks and glaciers. After enjoy the day return back to Dingboche. We stay overnight at Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 15: Trek Dingboche – Lobuche (4,940 m.) 2-4 hours trek.
Today’s journey leads north for up to 50-minutes until you come to a mani-prayer Stupa. The trail follows a downward path to Pheriche villag.We will trek continue along the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, with magnificent views of the Mt.Tawache, Ama Dablam and to the north-Pokalde (5741m), Kongma-tse (5820m) and the great wall of Nuptse. After a two hours walk, the trail from Pheriche joins near Dugla (4595m) before a small wooden bridge over the river of Khumbu glacier. We stay overnight at Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 16: Trek to Gorak Shep -Everest Base Camp (5,364m) & return to Gorak Shep (5170 m.) 6-7 hours trek.
After breakfast, we continue trek to Gorakshep, crossing through an area with huge boulders and glaciers. The trail to Gorakshep is rocky and wind but it offers great views of the Khumbu glacier down below, with striking scenery of the high, snow-capped mountains right before your eyes. After a brief lunch and rest. We continue our trek towards the Everest Base Camp through the vast Gorakshep Lake. Continuing to the Khumbu Ice-fall, the trail from here can be misleading, follow the lead Sherpa, every year the trail changes due to the movements of the glacier, the walk is quite strenuous due to the high altitude and thin air, the walk passes through over rocky dunes and moraine and streams, till you reach the base camp!.In the high expedition season, Mountaineer’s tents stand out in bright colors against all the dull gray surroundings. After being here, at the foot of Number One, you will retrace the trail back to Gorakshep. We stay overnight at Lodge. (B, L, D)

Day17: Ascends Gorak Shep – Kalapatthar (5,545m.) and return to Pheriche (4280 m.) 7-8 hours trek.
After some early morning tea/coffee, we ascend to Kalapatthar (5545m.) and enjoy an amazing sunrise view. From Kalapatthar you can have a panoramic view of Mt. Everest and many other magnificent peaks that include Mt. Pumori, Mt, Mt. Nuptse, and Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and among others. During the ascent to Kala Patthar we can pause to catch our breath at several outstanding view points to snap pictures. After several hours of an ascent, we reach Kala Patthar. From here we scramble to climb the rocky outcrop near to the summit marked by cairns and prayer flags. After experiencing an amazing sunrise view we return back to Gorak Shep, and will have lunch together; and descend down to Pheriche. We stay overnight at Lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 18: Trek Pheriche – Kyangjuma (3,500m) 5- 6 hours trek.
We continue follow the main trail down the beautifully scenic valley; we pass through Pangboche and re-cross the river before climbing to the monastery at Thyangboche. A steep descent of around 500m leads through bird filled rhododendron bushes and fir trees to the Dudh Kosi River .From here we will continue to Kyangjuma (3,550m) We stay overnight at Lodge. Day 19: Trek Kyangjuma – Khumjung to Monjo (2,850m) 5 -6 hours trek.
Today, we climb to hidden valley called Khumjung village, probably the biggest village of the areas and visit Hillary school established by Sir Admund Hillary and visit to Khunde village where a place of famous climber and big hospital running by charity, after a great moments take back to Namche Bazzar for lunch via Syangboche airstrip which is the world highest airstrip. We walk back to the downhill for overnight at Monjo. We stay overnight at Lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 20: Trek Monjo – Lukla (2,840m.) 3 hours trek.
Today we begin to get warmed up by a pleasant light breeze. Although we are traveling the same route down, we feel completely different with new views. We snap a mixture of open plains, rhododendron and pine forests, and in the distance snow covered peaks. We take time and walk leisurely today as this is the last day of our trek. We feel the Sherpa villages’ impressive faith in Buddhism and culture of prayer stones and prayers flag while we walk through the villages. On arrival in Lukla, we have plenty of time to relax, stretch those tired, sore legs and recall the experiences of the last couple of weeks. Upon arrival in Lukla, we stroll around while our leader will re-confirm our flight ticket. In the evening, we enjoy a celebration last dinner with your crew. We stay overnight at Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 21: We fly to Katmandu and we go for a farewell dinner in the evening.
This is an early morning flight back to Kathmandu which takes about 35 minutes. Your day is free, however, at even tide; you will be taken to a well known Nepali kitchen for a delicious farewell dinner of the original Nepalese cuisine. As you enjoy your meal, you will also be entertained to an exciting cultural dance performed by the local belles. You will enjoy this experience which is complimentary on behalf of the Volunteer Society Treks Nepal. Overnight at hotel (B, D)

Day 22: Transfer to the airport for our onward flight home sweet home.
Our office representatives will escort you to the airport for your connecting flight home. It’s been wonderful meeting you & knowing you all of these weeks.
