Kanchenjunga, although a restricted area, is considered one of the more remote trekking regions situations in Eastern Nepal, bordering the Indian state of Sikkim. This area is an ideal environment for musk deer, blue ship and the infamous yeti. Few westerners have travelled to this remote area.

We will drive to Basantpur and continue for three days walking through the sherpa and chhetri village we reach the place Suketar. From this place we will feel lonely and following a route along a ridge towards the Tamur River, enjoying panoramic views have Makalu (27,825ft) and Chamlang (24,000ft) peaks. We will continue through the forests and rhododendron thickets and soon the Kanchenjunga range will appear. Our route will continue up the Tamur river through the Limbu Villages (where we can share the pot of tongba) to the terraced mountainside village of Amjilassa and the legendary Sherpa village of Ghunsa (11,400ft). We will visit the monastery there and soon have our first glimpse of a sea of unclimbed peaks including Jannu (25,289ft), know as “Mystery Peak” or “Terror”. We will trek to the edge of the Kanchenjunga Glacier and, after crossing the lateral moraine, will come to the junction of Lhonak Glacier (15,680ft) and the valley. We will cross at this junction and arrive at our campsite at Lhonak, an undisturbed landscape of unspeakable beauty.

After a couple of day of rest and exploration at Lhonak, including a day trip to Pangpema(16,900ft) to see the north face of Kanchenjunga. Well we will continue to back the same way to home or if the team are quite interested we will go to cross two pass, The Lapsang La(16,760ft) and Sinion/ Margin La(15,300ft) depend up on the conditions. On the last day of our trek we will be back to Suketar to catch the flight and to connect flight from Biretnagar to Kathmandu.
